The Wrigley Sisters
Twin sisters Jennifer and Hazel Wrigley are an internationally renowned, worldwide acclaimed Orcadian fiddle and guitar duo, with a fan base stretching throughout Europe, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Far East.
Born, raised and now based again in Orkney, they started performing together – Jennifer on fiddle, and Hazel on guitar and piano – when they were just eight years old. Their enduring universal appeal reflects both the calibre of their music – a sparkling blend of traditional, contemporary and original material, invigorated with jazz, blues and ragtime flavours – and the effervescent charm of their performances, which combine boundless musical dexterity and vitality with Orcadian wit and good fun.
Now with seven albums and a twenty-year-plus touring career under their belt, Jennifer and Hazel also run the The Reel in Kirkwall; the music centre which sits alongside St. Magnus Cathedral. Predominantly a multi-instrumental school, it also encompasses a café/bar, music shop, and concert venue.
